Okay so postings have been slow….because… Julian and i bought a house! We signed last Friday and we’ve been painting and cleaning and renovating. It’s exciting and overwhelming and WONDERFUL! More soon. Also, I’m in love with this couch by Annabelle Selldorf, it would be a nice house warming gift, ha!

I’m back at school after months of living by the whims of my own schedule and working on my own projects. It feels good to be back and challenged in a completely different way then I’ve been this summer. It’s great to be immersed in the talent, productivity and overachieving energy of my colleagues and students.

Okay – so we don’t have a TV and I would never want one; TV is such a brain rot and I’d never want to schedule my life around a TV schedule. BUT every once and a while I want to steal away to the couch and hide from the world and watch something…well, mindless and brain rotting. Thank goodness for Hulu on those days. I’m not a big reality TV fan but I like shows that have some element of creativity and design. This lead me to HGTV’s Design Star. Over the summer I’ve worked my way through 5 lovely seasons. The show got a complete makeover on this last season – some changes good, others silly and pretentious. Designer and prop stylist Emily Henderson was one of the finalists this past season – she has a great blog and a completely refreshing sense of style. Below are a few photos from her own home in LA – I love it.

Julian and I have dug in and started some serious packing. For the next week we’ll be living in an upside down house, eating sandwiches and take-out as we pack up all our possessions. Big changes and exciting things ahead.
