Filmmaking couple extraordinaire (and my dear friends and mentors) Steve Bognar & Julia Reichart were nominated for an Academy Award today in the category of documentary, short subject (wooo hoooo!). Their fantastic film, The Last Truck, played on HBO last fall and in a few select festivals. The film is a moving portrait of  the last six months of a GM factory brought to life by the poignant voices of its workers. The film made me ache for a different world, a different system; one where hard work is honored and where a company (and a country) takes care of its workers.

Go see it when you get the chance!
