I’m a little embarrassed to say that I LOVE the Oscars. Everyone complains about how long and boring they are but I just eat them up. I guess it comes from when I was a little kid and I saw the Oscars as the ultimate achievement in film and I wanted to be a filmmaker and get an Oscar one day. Now with a lot more perspective I’m less respectful of the Academy which I usually think makes poor nomination judgments and has recently awarded some pretty uncreative films. But I can still get caught up in my own nostalgia and the magic of the night. And this year I can root for Steve and Julia who are nominated for Best Documentary, Short Subject for their beautiful film, The Last Truck. It would kick ass if they won.
Ps. We don’t own a TV so we had to beg a friend to host us so we can watch the awards ceremony!
